Last Friday 6 Feb 2009. Keep thinking of getting a new camera bag for my D90. Although I already have a new Nikon leather bag, I still don't really prefer to use it. I find it a bit too big and too obvoius to let people aware I'm carrying a DSLR camera.

As usual, searching for some reviews, especially Mobile01.com (Taiwanese forum), found out Natinal Geographic also got camera bag selling.

Yes, National Geographic, one of the starhub channel programs. National Geographic has many camera professionals. They designed the bag and asked Isreal armour manufacturer, KATA, to produce bags for them. I like the way they design. Like an old school bag.

OK, wait no more. why not Go now.

Zoom Zoom Zoom....

While driving, I have a thought of taking photos. It must be interesting. Here are some of the shots taken inside from my car while driving.

Guess where is this place?

Almost reaching Shaw Towers.
There is a camera shop selling National Geographic bags at the Shaw Towers. However, the shop don't carry the model I want. Shit! Quickly drove to Pennisula Plaza for another shop. Hopefully there is the model I want over there.
Yes. The shop does carry few models. After comparing few models, decided NG2345. I prefered this model is because it is just big enough to put in a D90 with lens, cleaning kits and still got space to put my phones and wallet. Importantly it is not too big. So not so obvious. That's more like it.

This is National Geographic NG2345 bag.
Still got one more thing to do. Need to buy Martin Field LCD protector at China Town. So zoom zoom to Smith Street in no time.
Can you recognise this place?

After getting Martin Field protecor for my camera LCD screen as well as my handphone KC910 LCD, still got 20 mins left for my parking coupon. Took few pictures at China Town then zoom zoom back home.
This place near Shenton Way.

When coming to KPE on my way home, I had an interesting thought. Why not take some pictures and see what kind of effect could produce.
Wow!!!! Taking photo while driving is not an easy task. First of all, the camera Auto Focus is unable to focus outside. So, what I did is to point at my dashboard to get the focus point first and then pointed outside and shot.
Do you feel like watching The Speed?

One hand holding wheel while the other hand holding 1kg camera. My eyes looking left and right, back and front, to prevent hitting the side wall and cars around. Thats really tough -.-"

As no way to stable the camera, all shots are blur but the special effect stand out. Not so bad actually.
Wow!! Highway to Heaven o.O"

Oh is that heaven?

That's all about the story about getting National Geographic bag. Next time will post the review of my camera bag as well as China Town shots.
See you :)

My D90 Open Box Review

Hey. Today I am going to share with you the review of my D90 open box.

After studied through so many so many product reviews, I know D90 will be my right parner of my life, so decided to go after her in no time :P

Bought my Nikon D90 on 30/1/2009 evening with my best friend, Ricky Tan. He bought his first DSLR Nikon D40. After taking dinner, fetched my friend back home, no further delay, 90km/h all the way back home.
Reached home 11pm. Quickly took out Panasonic KX7's battery and charged. I need to use it to take down the entire of Open Box process.
Wait and wait and wait. The box is quietly lying on the table. She is so near to me and yet I could not touch her before KX7 battery was fully charged.
1 hour passed. Battery was fully charged (may be not because I could not wait anymore already hehehe).
Show time!

Let's take a first look. Oh my god! How come Canon? Did I buy the wrong one? How can it be?

Thank god. I did not go after the wrong one. She is D90. What the hell the saleman using a Canon bag for Nikon product?

Take a close look at her. She has the outer beauty. (I think there is no such word called Outer. What I mean is the opposite word of Inner. She definately has inner beauty no doubt) Blacky and shinny. I like it.

She comes with a user manual, quick manual, software suites, CaptureNX2 (trial version). Tab along are warranty card and 4GB SD Card (freebie).

Further, she comes with a Nikon strap (nice colour matching. I like it), USB cable, battery charger with cable, audio/vidio cable and shoe cover. (Batter is inside her body)

Now, take a look at the lens. She is short sided. She needs to wear lens to see the world clearly :P

The new Nikon kit lens with shader.

AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED VR. A very good kit for newbie like me.

Now is her show time. She is abit shy. She is still hiding inside the cover. Don't be shy. Come out and say hello to everyone.

Yes. My girl friend, D90. She says hello to all you.

Her side view.

Her top view.

Her backside. Oops.

All right. Study time. Put on the lens. (A bit like Transformer)

Side view again.

Front view. She looks so fierce.

Took out the cover, oh my god, she has a sparkling big eye :P

All right. No more waiting. I want to date her out for shooting even now is 2am.
Wait the minute. I have to charge her battery first before I can date her out. Oh no still have to wait >.<"

My first DSLR - D90

Last Friday, 30/1/2009, I bought my first DSLR Nikon D90 + Kit 18-105mm VR in my life, together with my good friend.

My friend, Ricky Tan, he bought his D40 with dual kits which was strongly recommended by me. I told him Nikon D40 is a cheap and good camera although it is a 1.5 years old model and only 6MP (nowadays all new cameras minimum come with 10.2MP). Many people looking for very high MP camera. The higher the better. Actually not true. 6MP is more than enough for an A4 printing. For Web posting, even 2MP is more than enough. You may want to visit Ken Rockwell's Recommended Cameras to understand why as a camera professional like him still using 6MP DSLR. Don't get me wrong. I'm not the fan of Ken Rockwell. I just like the way he presented himself. The link is as follows,

http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/recommended-cameras.htm.

We both bought our cameras from MS Colour. The saleman is Jackson. Quite a friendly uncle :P Over the phone before going down, I though he is a young man. Neber (Singlish of "Never") know that he is an uncle ^_^ I must admit he got a very young voice over the phone. If you want to buy any camera and accessories, please visit him. The shop is near the AMK hawker centre after passing by the AMK Bus Interchange.

My friend, Ricky Tan, he bought his D40 with many freebies like Nikon Tripod, Nikon Bag, and 2 x 8GB SD. Oh my god! He is damn good luck. Look at me. I bought my D90 only comes with a 4GB SD. What the fxxk >.<>.<>.< Anyway, no regret. D90 is a good camera. It really can satisfy my desire ^_^ Although it is heavy, the griding is damn good damn solid. I tried several display sets before like D40, D60, D80, Canon 1000D and 450D. Only D80 and D90 have better griding. I chose D90 over D80 because D90 is the latest model. Btw, Olympus E520 and Sony A series also have good griding but I still chose D90 eventually just becaue it is Nikon. Hehehe...

Some people may say, you buy a 12.2MP camera and yet ask people to accept 6MP. I say, well, that's me. Why Not. Joke a side, honestly speaking, I set my D90 down to 6mp for shooting. I'm serious. I Swear.

She is my new girl friend, her name is D90. Cute or not?
PS, btw. I will try to post D90 Open Box asap.
